¡Olé!

Hi friends,
Today I've got some goodies I made to decorate my classroom. I luuuuv anything Spanish (hmmm...wonder why ;) wink- so when I saw the Flamenco dancer stamps from La-La Land I went ga-ga!

Here's Flamenco Marci:
I used the traditional colors of Spain. I also used the LLL heart fan and die cut alphabet letters to spell "españa."

Here's Flamenco Luka:
I sponged the background with Distress Inks & ran it through the Air Mail Tim Holtz EF.

I couldn't stop there...so I decided I wanted to make a scene with both of them in it:
I created an 8x10 picture as well. I used the Papel Picado stamp from Avery Elle to hang in the background. The balloons got a super coat of glossy accents. My coloring of these guys is much better the second time around *Ü*

Here's a closer peek at the dancers:
So cute! I *heart* these little guys! It reminds me of my brother and I when we were little...not that we were Flamenco dancers, I meant the cute part *Ü* Lol.

Here's the final picture in a frame:
I removed the glass so I could bring some of the elements forward. I added the sun & cloud dies (also from LLL) to the corner which matched the pattern paper perfectly! LUV those happy coincidences *Ü* I added another sweet fan on the lower right corner. I wanted a white frame, but they didn't have one so I opted for this gold one.

Thanks so much for peeking today!
Tootles and have a great week!

Wish Big

Hi friends,
I have another birthday card to share today.
Here it is:
I used The Sweet Life stamp from PTI. I embossed the background in the sheet music embossing folder because roses go well with music, don't ya think?

Here's a peek of the innies:
I heat embossed the scripty sentiment in gold. I am a sucker for scripty writing so this Lawn Fawn stamp had to come home with me *Ü*

Thanks so much for peeking today.

All-Star Shaker

Hi friends,
My youngest son recently had a birthday. I was a bit pressed for time, so I thought that I would buy him a card since I didn't really think it mattered to him---> it's what's on the INSIDE that counts, right???
So he opened his card & gasped, "You didn't make me a birthday card?"...cue another moment to add to the Mommie Dearest novel he'll write later... I felt bad :( ...so I decided to make him one.

Here it is:
I made a fun shaker from the star shape. The background was embossed with the CB Tiny Bubbles embossing folder to mimic the feel of a basketball. Luv it! Gotta keep that in the bat files for later.

Here's a closer peek:
I have always luuuuved shaker cards, so I'm glad they're the new hit thing!

Here's a peek of the innies:
I used this week's MFT sketch #223:
I haven't played in any challenges in a while, so I'll play along with the following:
JUGS: Shaker card
Sister Act Card Challenge: Anything Goes
4 Crafty Chicks: Die Cuts
DL.Art: Use orange
Southern Girls Challenge: Starry Starry night- use stars

Ok, so I hope all is forgiven...and after all of this, I hope I don't find this card under the bed or in the the laundry hamper. But I have a feeling... wink...

Thanks so much for peeking today!

for a Cheeky Birthday Girl

Hi ya friends,

Today I have a card I made for a friend of mine:
I colored this Cheeky girl with Copics. I masked her so I could put her on top of a cupcake & then added the background with Distress Inks. I colored her to look like my friend.

Here's a closer peek:
I added Stickles to the cupcake frosting.

Here's a peek of the innies:
I just luv this little balloon animal- so fun!

I thought this Cheeky girl would be perfect for my friend because she is loads of fun--- just like her!

That's it for now...Ciao!

It's the big 21!

Hi friends,
21 years ago today, a 10 pound turkey was born! My oldest turns 21 today...
I made him this "simple" card:
I took the stamp and colored in sections I wanted to emphasize, cut them out, & popped them up on top of the stamped image.
Here's a closer peek:

Here's a peek of the innies:

I die cut the 21 from the white paper so you're seeing the negative space on the inside.

I thought I would make a "simple" card, but this took longer than if I had colored an image with Copics! Ack! Now, if you have this stamp (from Tim Holtz) you're probably wondering why it looks different...well that's because I omitted a couple of parts---> "Be Fearless" and "Take Risks". While I liked the rest of the message, my son doesn't need encouragement in the areas of taking risks and being fearless, let me tell ya! I have lots of emergency room visits in the old memory bank having to do with him being fearless & taking risks and believing the philosophy of doing your own stunts! Lol *Ü*

Well, I hope he likes it.  That's it for today...gotta run to a birthday dinner.
Tootles!

We'll miss you, Mannie

Hi friends,
As you may know, Kristina Werner's furry companion, Mannie, sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago. I was so sad to hear that because I enjoyed Mannie's appearances on her blog & videos *Ü*
I decided to make a card for her:

I chose this cute little PI called Purrfect. I colored the little kitty to look like Mannie.
Here's a closer peek:
I used Distress Inks for the background. I find it soooo much easier than coloring it with Copics.

Here's a peek of the innies:
My heart goes out to Kristina. Our beloved fur babies DO become a part of our family and fill our hearts with unconditional love. I hope this little card brings a smile to her...

Here's my little girl, Tigress:
She's such a character! I've never known a cat to luv laying on her back like she does! What a weirdo *Ü*
I always wanted a girl...and I got one...just not the kind of girl I was thinking. But I've learned that Life is always right. I got my girl and I wouldn't want it any other way!

I hope in time, Kristina can open her heart to another furry companion.

Hugs...until next time.

Some bunny is back!

Hi ya friends!
Nooo, your eyes are not deceiving you---I'm back today after a little hiatus from the blog-o.
Today, I thought I'd share 3 Easter cards I made. Why 3? I like 3...3's a good number *Ü*

The first card went to Grammy:

As you can see, I'm still a more is more kind of crafty girl. It's a simple card really (if you take away all the layers, heat embossing, and tons of fussy cutting) it's just white & gold. I used lots of Heartfelt Creations goodies since my Grammy luvs their stamps. All the lilies were colored with Copics & have a swish of clear Wink of Stella.

Here's a peek of the innies:
Clearly time has not improved my photog skills :(  sorry for the blurr...

Card 2:

I used a different HC stamp for the main image. I heat embossed it twice & layered just the cross on top and then a cross die cut and then a lily.

Here are the innies:

Last but not least, I wanted to make a more colorful card.

I used pink, blue, & gold. The blue behind the cross got a big swish of Wink of Stella in clear so it looks shimmery IRL.

Thanks so much for peeking today! I've been a super busy little teacher but I'll be back from time to time to share more crafty concoctions as time permits  *Ü*  Have a happy Sunday!

Tootles for now,
